On Thursday 27th April 2023, 2nd Waterlooville Scouts were tasked with collecting litter down the Hayling Billy line, but due to the Great British weather, we ended up doing litter picking around the local area. We arrived at the Hut dressed ready for the great wet litter pick and waited for our instructions. It was decided that we would be going litter picking as one whole group with a few people carrying bins and the rest having litter pickers. We left the hut on Jubilee Road and headed towards the town centre. The weather was not great, but we still managed to power through. We walked around finding litter for about 1 ½ Hours, we picked tin cans, plastic bags, wrappers and even a soaked cuddly toy. We eventually made it back to the hut at 8:45 PM and we had collected an amazing 7 bags full of rubbish and we did this to help our community.
